MEGAMAN ZERO: THE FANDUB

Hello, and welcome to my first serious fandub! Before you laugh at "OMG MEGA MAN IZ A KIDS GAEM, AND IT HAZ NO BAKSTRY!!", I've noticed a lot lately that most of the fans would love to once have a Megaman anime without treated as a kids series. And what way better to do it than with the most serious series of them all?

Note: This will only focus on the radioplays available for now, to spread awareness for the project. Also, sprite animators are welcome, to add new cutscenes to flesh out the backstory, contact me for details. For graphic artists, send your work to this thread: madmanx429.deviantart.com/journal/

PLOT: Over a century after Sigma's defeat in the Mega Man X series, a new government called Neo Arcadia was formed to maintain peace. The leaders of Neo Arcadia began hunting down Reploids unjustly labeling them as Mavericks. Now the only hope for the Reploid is a legendary Reploid named Zero. Feeling that the Reploids were being wrongly accused, Ciel flees from Neo Arcadia and creates a Resistance against Neo Arcadia, and tries to rediscover the ancient hero's remains...

MAIN CHARACTERS


Zero, the legendary reploid
-Bio: The legendary machine who once fought the Maverick Wars alongside X, Zero may not look the type to be so noble as his old partner. However, beneath his cold manner lies a soul desiring to protect the innocent. He has recently been found inside an old laboratory, and being awoken by Ciel, he suffers from temporary amnesia.
-Voice type: Med-low male, slightly deep from his age (around 200 years realistically, should sound late-20's). Use the reference for an estimate. Do NOT use any voice ideas from the X series, this will be addressed later, as the Original body and the MMZ form will have different personalities.

Lines:
1. *disgusted* Oh, you mean this peace made from the slaughter of thousands of reploids, caused by a legendary fake? Your "utopia"...is a sick joke!

2. *reminiscing, talking down to his enemy* Now that I think about the real X, he wasn't as arrogant as you. His mind always worried about the well-being of others, and never held a grudge against anyone. THAT, was why he was a hero.

3. *monologue, commenting on himself before his final battle* I never cared about justice, and I didn't ever mention myself as a hero...I have only fought for the people I believe in. I won't hesitate... If an enemy appears in front of me, I will destroy it! Ciel...believe in me!!


Ciel
-Bio: A human girl, formerly a Reploid researcher and scientist at Neo Arcadia. Though responsible for creating Copy-X after X's disappearance, she cannot help but feel that the persecution of Reploids is wrong and decides to leave Neo Arcadia. Since then she has organized the Resistance and successfully developed a new source of energy, the "Ciel System." She is the main heroine of the story, and the one to wake up Zero.
-Voice Type: Medium female, acting mature for her age (9 when she left for the resistance, around 13 when the game begins), use the reference

Lines:
1. *talking to Zero, Zero comments if he is what Ciel's looking for* Really? Heh, you're already the Zero we're looking for to me.

2. *Narrating * Zero’s power was much greater than we thought. Many people from the Resistance were saved by him, and his actions greatly raised the troop’s morale. However, another wall has built over what Zero has knocked down. The Four Guardians, the guardians of the Neo Arcadian ruler X, were the greatest warriors from the land. And they were out for our blood.

3. *grabbed by the enemy* Zero! No! Run... You can't damage this thing with a gun!


Harpuia
Bio: Sage Harpuia is a member of the Four Guardians of Neo Arcadia. He was created from X's DNA towards the end of the Maverick War with the task of cleaning the skies and atmosphere of toxic gases after the war had ended. Some time later, he became a military general of Neo Arcadia, commanding the Rekku Army, Neo Arcadia's military air force. Originally, Harpuia was a stubborn and loyal follower of X and later his duplicate Copy X. He was proud to serve such a heroic leader and fulfilled any task given to him with absolute obedience and without any hesitation. Though Harpuia for the most part serves as a major antagonist, he's not a true villain.
Voice Type: Med, Med-High male; Thinks very high of his expectations, snooty (use reference)

Lines:
1. You must be Zero. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is
Harpuia, one of the four Guardians of master X. Such foolish behavior for a legendary hero, to side with Mavericks...Zero, you shall repent and atone for your sins!

2. Zero... I don't think that justice is destroying resistance forces. But, as long as they try to disobey humans, destroying them is my purpose.

3. Enough talking, we need to leave...I won’t let the Resistance go free…this time, you will pay for your crimes against master X, Zero! Troops, move out!


Leviathan
Bio: Fairy Leviathan is a member of the Four Guardians of Neo Arcadia. She was created from X's DNA towards the end of the Maverick War with the task of cleaning the seas and oceans after the war had ended. However, from what she has experienced, she knows the seas will never be clean, and jumps to any opportunity to escape her purpose. Some time later, she became a military general of Neo Arcadia, commanding the Meikai Army, Neo Arcadia's military navy force. Leviathan seems to like being playful with her opponents before slaying them, as though she enjoys toying with them.
Voice: Med/Med-High female, this is the only character I don't think the reference will work with. Try to illustrate her flirty tendencies, but don't be bubbly with her voice. If you think the VA for the reference hit the spot, send your take along with my request.

Lines:
1. Hey, Zero! Name's Leviathan, one of the four Guardians of master X. After hearing so much about you from that pretty kid and the combat nerd, I've been waiting to see you. Oh, I can't wait to see their faces when they find out that it was I who retired you! Now don't hold back just because I'm a woman!

2. Playing 'hero' must be a fun way to pass the time...

3. *slightly surprised* Hmm…I haven’t seen you this serious in a long time… *giggle* This might be interesting. It would help to get rid of the boredom around here…


Phantom
Bio: Phantom was the leader of the Zan'ei Army with the title of Inshō Phantom (「隠将」ファントム, "Inshō" Fantomu?, literally "Shadow General Phantom" aka "Stealthy Commander" or "The Ebony Illusion"). Phantom's schematics were based on that of X's capabilities of stealth. He is one of the Four Guardians of Copy X and oversaw his pupils, Hanumachine, Phoenix Magnion, and Tech Kraken. Phantom's major trait is his unwavering allegiance to his master, X, displaying more loyalty than his three counterparts (none of whom were willing to sacrifice their lives in order to protect X [or in this case, Copy X]). His sacrifice may be considered admirable, despite the flawed nature of its cause.
Voice: Med-low/Low male, use the reference, a japanese accent, or (if you want) your Batman impression. However, please send the reference-influenced one first (thought I was serious about Batman, didja? xD)

Lines:
1. Humph! You have been doing well...My name is Phantom, one of the four Guardians of master X. As they say, every generation has its legend. However, a lost legend should remain lost...Allow me to show you why!

2. *defeated,his pride wounded* Impossible... How could I...? No...I won't...I won't allow you to reach where master X is...I can't let Neo Arcadia fall under anarchy...I have no choice now...I'll take you with me!*self-destructs* Arrrgggghhhh!

3. *stoically* Our opponent at the Resistance is known as the red spirit Reploid, Zero. Your overconfidence may lead to your downfall. You would best keep that in mind, Leviathan.


Fefnir
Fighting Fefnir is the leader of the Jin'en Gundan ("Army of Ash Flames") with the title of Tōshō ("Fighter General" or "Fighting General") for Neo Arcadia. Fefnir's schematics were based on that of X's capabilities of ground combat. He is one of the Four Guardians designed to protect Master X. He was fiercely faithful to Master X and oversaw a pupil, Anubis Necromancess III. Originally designed as a worker reploid, he was designated to rebuild destroyed cities from the Maverick Wars by melting leftover materials for recycling. However, seeing his own creations get taken down too frequently, Fefnir has become obsessed with demolition, rather than architecture.
Voice: Self-casted, just making the thread look pretty. But if you are REALLY interested, we can discuss the role like gentlemen.


Copy X
Bio: Copy X (コピーエックス, Copy X?) is a character from the Mega Man Zero series. He is a clone of X created by the scientist Ciel, and is the main antagonist. Supposedly as a Perfect Copy of X, one would expect that his personality is a mirror image of X. However he has many major differences. He, in a way, is a perfectionist with a mixed up sense of justice due to the fact that he continues to insist that he is a Perfect Copy of X, as well as insisting that what Neo Arcadia is doing is justice.
Voice: Male, Higher pitch and robotic tinge compared to Original X (can use effects for both), Authorative, and values himself more than others for believing he serves a greater purpose. However, don't make him TOO evil and bratty from the original X, the audience should feel sympathy for the extra cutscene I have planned.

Lines:
1. *chuckle* Zero, have you noticed the world since you left? What you see now is an evolution from what our ancestors have accomplished. Both myself and Neo Arcadia have adapted a structure that destroys any concept of insurrection. A pure utopia, something you or X could not create...only by my leadership did this happen!

2. *weakened by Zero* ...S-silence...I'll...I'll show you something X could never do! *uses Armed Phenomenon* Gyaaaaaaah!! *transforms* I am no clone...I am real! And from what I see...YOU'RE the FAKE, Maverick!

3. *defeated, about to die* But...none of that...matters now...heh...at least...I can take you down...with me...*power dies* with...meee...


X (Cyber-Elf form)
Bio: One of the original heroes of the Maverick Wars, X has served humans dilligently since Zero has submitted himself for the Sigma Antibody Program 100 years ago. Having to lead the people during the time has made him weary, and his body has disappeared from Neo Arcadia. However, his soul, in the form of a cyber elf, still lives, and he's still as kind-hearted as ever.
Voice: Med, Med-high male, He is calm, collective, and kind spirited, just try to reflect that while having a masculine voice. For the cyber-elf form, a small amount of voice distortion will help as well.

Lines:
1. *speaking from a computer, use distortion effects* Hurry...You have to save her...don't waste time!

2. Now, go. Retire that copy of me...with extreme prejudice.

3. *talking to Zero, unconscious* Since you disappeared, I've been fighting this war alone against an uncountable number of Mavericks for nearly a hundred years... Battle after battle...but, the hardest part was, when I discovered that I lost my meaning to fight. Just fight for the cause a little more, Zero...I need to rest...forgive me.

Resistance Members


Cerveau
Bio: Cerveau (セルヴォ, Seruvo?) is the engineer who makes Zero's weapons; he also mentions that he works alongside Ciel in her research. His name is French for brain, though it could also be a pun on the word "Servo", given his aptitude for machinery. He appears in all four Mega Man Zero games, where he creates parts and weapons to the player. He is constantly worrying about Ciel and Zero's safety.
Voice: Medium/Medium-Low, an intelligent, yet down-to-earth 30-year-old scientist

Lines:
1. *surprised*...Wow! So you're Zero? I never thought I'd get to meet you. From what we know, we believe that your Z Saber has unlimited potential for upgrading. It could also have an effect on other weapons. Properly tuned, I believe your buster can be charged to shoot a powerful energy bullet.

2. ...I still can't believe you are who Ciel says you are... *catches himself* Wait, I'm getting ahead of myself. My name is Cerveau. As you can see, I'm a Reploid engineer.


Alouette
Bio: Alouette (アルエット, Aruetto?) is a child Reploid that treasures a doll Ciel gave her. She also looks up to, and admires, Ciel, with aspirations to follow in Ciel's footsteps as a researcher. She is an expert Cyber Elf handler and raises the Cyber Elves that Zero obtains. She is the one who named the Baby Elves Crea and Prea. Her name is French for "Lark".
Voice: Med-high/High, a childish 9-year old, but not too bratty or meek; innocent

Lines:
1. Hi mister! Nice to meet you...You saved Ciel, didn't you? My name's Alouette...Oh, Ciel named me.

2. Have you ever heard of a thing called Cyber-elf? A Cyber-elf is an electronic entity that gives some kind of a power. But once they use their powers, they die...I feel sorry for them...

3. *worried* Zero, don't leave us... You'll stay here with us, won't you?


Andrew
Bio: Andrew (アンドリュー, Andoryū?, also Andre) is a old Reploid who likes to talk a lot. In the past, he was a sailor, a breadmaker, and a teacher. He appears in the first three Mega Man Zero games.
Voice: Med/Med-Low; a wise, old (60-70 years old), sometimes silly voice.

Lines:
1. Hmmm... You're a new boy, aren't you? Are you kicking butt, just to be like the other Reploids?...Say, son, are you interested in a small story?

2. Oh good, you want to listen! *thinking hard* Uhhh...I told you up to the time we began to live together, didn't I? Oh yeah, I'll continue...

3. Hello, son. You know what? I heard it was a red Reploid who saved us and our base. *scolding* You should take a leaf out of his book, and be a hero like him.


Hibou
Bio: Hibou (イプー, Ibū?) is a fat and hungry Reploid that eats a lot of E-Crystals. In Mega Man Zero he is lazy and stands in the way to a Cyber-elf, and will only exit if Zero gives E-Crystals to him. Strangely enough, his sprites in the original game is the generic Resistance sprite, but was changed in his later appearances. His name is French for "Owl".
Voice: Med/Med-high, think a normal Eddie from Silent Hill 2.

Lines:
1. *tired and weak* Huh? Who are you? Ah, who cares. Will you do me a favor? I'm too hungry to move. Will you spare me some Energy Crystal? 250 Crystals will do. Could you lend me some?

2. I know they call me "Cargo Load" behind my back...But, I didn't ask to be created like this.

3. *appreciative* I'm so glad I got to know you! Though I don't know if you feel the same way about me. Uh...wait, that didn't come out right. What I meant was... Just... Come back safely, all right?


Bosses



Aztec Falcon
Bio: THE ULTIMATE BIRD, SPARKING WITH LIGHTNING
A Mutos Reploid under Harpuia's command. Aztec Falcon acts as warden and executioner to all Reploids accused of being Mavericks. Under Copy X's harsh laws governing Reploids in the wake of the energy crisis, there are no known cases of a Reploid being judged innocent and released once they have been arrested.
Voice: Medium, Spanish accent from his mythology, somewhat of a slimeball

Lines:
1. I'm Aztec Falcon. Harpuia, the Guardian, sent me to clean up the mess we have here...

2. You must be some of the garbage I forgot. Hee hee, just in time. I'll dispose of both of you together!

3. What's that scrappy little gun you have there? You actually think it can go past my rail gun?


Maha Ganeshariff
Bio: BIG, HARD BALL GENIE
The Mutos Reploid responsible for the storage and distribution of information for the Deep sea Squadron lead by Leviathan. To help ensure the security and integrity of the data Maha Ganeshariff handles, he was built to be a data server that can not only transport information, but defend itself if necessary. With valuable servers as innards, his outer body was built as a large, solid shell to protect their contents.
Voice: Med-low/Low, Pompous attitude

Lines:
1. I'm known as Maha Ganeshariff. I'm in charge of data processing and handling information. All of the information left around here has been stored in the server in my body. If you want it back, you'll have to destroy me and download it from my memory... Geh heh heh...can you do it, you tiny reploid?

2. Gah...I was supposed to be invincible... But it's too late. Rest in pieces, along with your tomb! *insert death scream here*


Anubis Necromancess III
Bio: Anubis Necromancess the Third (Anubis Necromancess the Third? , Anubistep Necromances III in Japan) is the boss of the "Find Shuttle" mission from Mega Man Zero. He's a Mutos Reploid based on the jackal god of death, Anubis, and is a member of Fefnir's Jin'en Army.
Voice: Low male voice, zombie-like decay in vocal cords (VERY gruff)

Lines:
1. My name is Anubis Necromancess the Third. I work for Fefnir, one of the four Guardians. I'm the king of destruction and the ruler of the desert...The Reploids you are looking for are deep in the desert. If you wish to rescue them, you need to defeat me first. En-garde, old-timer!

2. Very clever, you're the first to notice that my staff is controlled by electromagnetism...but did you expect THIS!?


Blizzack Staggroff
Bio: Blizzack Staggroff (ブリザック・スタグロフ, Blizzack Staggroff?) is the boss of the "Find Hidden Base" in Mega Man Zero, member of Leviathan's Meikai Army. Blizzack is a Mutos Reploid based on a stag (male) deer. He is ressurrected by Dr. Weil in Mega Man Zero 3 as "Blizzack Staggroff R", and leads a army to attack the Resistance Base from the northern tundra.
Voice: Med-low male; Since his name originates from Russian origins, gruff broken english will do

Lines:
1. Hmmmm... You must be Zero...You have done well to make it this far, but this is where your journey ends. I'm Blizzack Staggroff, the best warrior of Leviathan, the Guardian. You won't beat me! Get ready!!

2. Hmmmmmm. Outdated Reploid garbage. You should have remained in your place of rest...With my blizzard, you'll regret not staying there! *supposed to imitate an elk* Guuuuuuh ! Time to go back to sleep...


Hanumachine
(ハヌマシーン, Hanumachine?) is one of the bosses of Mega Man Zero, member of Phantom's Zan'ei Army (Stealth Unit). He is a Mutos Reploid based on the Hindu monkey god Hanuman. Hanumachine can be fought either after failing in the mission against Hittide Hottide, or after all selectable missions are completed.
Voice: High-pitched (male, but girls can audition too); shrieks sometimes like a monkey

Lines:
1. Well well well. I've heard a lot about you. You must be Zero, the legendary Reploid...Or should I say the old and out of date Reploid? I'm Hanumachine, and I'm the number one apprentice of Phantom, the Guardian. I'll retire you for the glory of the Stealth Unit! En-garde! Ukiki!

2. Can't keep up with me, kiki? So much for the war machine...


Herculious Anchorus
Herculious Anchortus (ヘラクリウス・アンカトゥス, Herculious Anchortus?) is the second boss of the Neo Arcadia Shrine (the first of the final stages) from Mega Man Zero. Herculious is a Reploid based on the hercules beetle, and is member of Sage Harpuia's Rekku Army. Zero encounters Herculious at the end of the Neo Arcadia Shrine stage and again in the final stage. He uses electrical attacks and is vulnerable to ice attacks.
Voice: Medium male; an arrogant, prideful personality. A Shakespearean accent may be a good idea as well.

Lines:
1. You are trespassing on the sanctuary of master X. I, Herculious Anchortus, will eliminate you, in the name of Harpuia, Guardian of master X. You should view it as an honor to be slashed to retirement by my sword!

2. I still can't believe you defeated me...It's such a disgrace...I must redeem myself by terminating you! Get ready!

Extras



The pantheon
Bio: A cold, ruthless army, made from the DNA of the Original X. Even though they may not be as strong as the original, they're still formidable.
Voice: A robotic delay, but not monotone. Just get the cold, ruthless part right. ALL GENDERS OPEN!

1. There they are! Leave no survivors! GO!!

2. They seem to have split up. Delta team, take left. Gamma team, take right.

Cyber-elves
Bio: A condensed reploid's soul after their body has decomposed, they're given an extended life by granting special functions by hacking nearby reploids. However, once this power has been used, they're used as well.
Voice: Robotic delay with a possible mix of a higher pitch from effects, ALL GENDERS OPEN!

Lines:
1. *Females only* No. I feel a strong energy inside. This must be the place.

2. Thanks for getting me free, Zero. If you ever need a helping hand, I'm useful for quickening your reflexes.

3. Oh, Zero, thanks for picking me up! Just gimme a call if you need a lift.

Resistance Soldiers
Bio: The infantry of the Resistance. Even though some of them may have no experience in combat compared to the Pantheon, they still fight for their freedom, along with all the refugee reploids.
Voice: No special effects, just a strict military personality...mixed with a little casualness.

1. Wh-what are these things!? How are we gonna fight them when our weapons don't do SQUAT!?

2. Zero, we managed to secure this location just for you. I hear that deep inside that factory is a shipload of energy.

3. Oh great, we're cornered! We have to evacuate now! This is no time to argue!
